I’m obsessed with brown butter.


I know, it’s like I’ve been living under a rock because it’s kinda been around for awhile, but I have an excuse. Remember…? I live in a village of 250 people?? I started hearing about brown butter on cooking shows. Gordon Ramsey’s Masterchef. Jessie, one of the contestants, talked about a brown butter dessert she was making. I thought to myself “hmmmm… I love butter. I wonder what brown butter is…”

Miscellaneous Medley

1.  My dog needed grooming. I kind of did things completely opposite and didn’t mean to! It’s the end of summer and I get my dog groomed… procrastination is my enemy. My husband and I have a bichon shih tzu. We have had him for 4 wonderful years, his name is Whiskey. This little cute bichon shih tzu was supposed to be 11 pounds… at least that’s what they told us at Toys R Us when we bought him. Well he grew… and he grew.. and he grew. He is not 11 pounds, he’s 30!!! Ok, so he’s not the cute, tiny, fluffy little guy we were picturing, but he’s our Whiskles and he’s got tons of personality. Don’t bug him in the morning, he’s grumpy. 🙂 And if you kick him off your spot in the couch, he will jump right back up to that same spot the minute you leave.

Mediterranean Chicken in White Wine with Olives and Capers

White wine, olives, capers and lemon juice… need I say more?


I think one of the perfect meals is one that involves wine. The aroma while cooking a meal with wine in it makes me feel like I am in a Greek or Italian restaurant. I love cooking with wine and what’s even more fun is pouring a glass while doing it!

This dinner is great on the budget, and easy to prep ahead of time and throw in the oven an hour and a half before dinner. Cook up a side of rice or some crusty bread and you have a delicious meal.

The Mediterranean Superfood: Olives

I LOVE olives. And you know what? That’s where olive oil comes from which means they’re a really good fat for you. The fat from olives and nuts protects your brain. A diet rich in these healthy fats and a little red wine can reduce your risk of early dementia and can cut risk of heart attacks and strokes by 30 percent. This was a well-known study done in Spain.

Butter Chicken Curry with Cauliflower and Pineapple

Spicy, sweet, authentic Indian Butter Chicken. Topped with fresh chopped cilantro, tart pineapple and sweet , juicy raisins… don’t forget a drizzle of Sirachi. A must try.


This is one of those meals that I look forward to, it’s, a staple as I like to call it. I saw this packet at Walmart and decided to give it a try. I was shocked the first time I made it. It was unbelievable! I was expecting the worst, usually store-bought curry sauces are awful. Not this one. It was like I was cooking butter chicken from scratch in India. I know what you’re thinking though… “What are you doing? Ingredients out of a package is processed food with soybean and/or canola oils and a bunch of ingredients you can’t pronounce!”  Guess what?? Not this one! This Kitchens of India Butter Chicken Curry Paste is 100% natural and no preservatives. That is huge.
