Or Stampedin’ Cowboy Chili… not sure which one sounds better. 🙂
This is an ode to my hometown Calgary, Alberta. I have searched high and low for the greatest chili concoction, and finally found it. This is a combination of sweet, smoky, and spicy. I have 2 very special ingredients that cannot be left out that I will share soon. Keep reading.

This spicy shrimp Ragin’ Cajun Jambalaya is made from scratch and is super tasty and quick to prepare! Definitely one of my go-to meals when I am in a pinch that’s a family favorite.
The jambalaya that I am sharing with you today is more of a southwestern and south-central jambalaya because it is Cajun and not Creole. Now the further away you get from New Orléans the less they use tomatoes but I put tomatoes in mine anyway. To me, it’s just not jambalaya without tomatoes. This meal is also a one dish dinner which I love, one dish means less clean up which is a definite plus with no dishwasher! Feel free to substitute chicken instead of shrimp, sausage instead of chicken, or throw all 3 in for an even bigger celebration!

“If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales. “ Albert Einstein
I never used to be like this…. trying to be as natural and chemical-free as possible. There was a time where I never went a day without coating my hair in hairspray. My sister can attest to that. 🙂 But after having a child and being a stay at home mom, things changed. I wanted to make sure I was putting the best foods into my daughter, and that’s how it all started. It was little things. Like I didn’t like the idea of feeding her crackers as a snack. I wanted her to like vegetables and eat lots of fruits. And not choose unhealthy, processed foods when given a choice. Cleaning my floors with vinegar also make me happy, knowing that when my 3-year-old picks up food off the floor and puts it in her mouth, I don’t have a sick feeling in my stomach thinking about all the chemicals she just ingested. It’s just the dirt I have to worry about. 😉

Is Your Sunscreen Causing Cancer?
Summer is over, well, nearly over so this post is probably a little late but I felt it was imperative I still get the message out there. Afterall, how many of you wear sunscreen year round? How many of you wear face moisturizer or foundation with a built-in SPF? Probably a lot of you.

Garlic, olive oil, tomatoes, basil, and more garlic… 🙂
Bruschetta. Actually pronounced “bru-sket-ta”, is an antipasto from Italy. I know, I’ve been saying it wrong too. It’s much more fun to say “brush-etta”. If I could pick any place in the world to eat and live, it would be Italy. Wine, fresh cheese, olive oil, olives, sourdough, mortadella… those are my absolute favorites.
