About
Welcome to my blog!! I am Amber, a 33 year old stay at home mom of a beautiful 3 year old daughter named Kayden and in that 3 years of staying at home, I have learned more in life than I probably have in my entire 33 years. Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, my family and I decided to do the unthinkable…. pick up and move to a small Saskatchewan town in search of a simpler life to raise our young child. You know those old country songs on the radio? You know the ones…. I blame those songs. Or ever watch Friday Night Lights? That’s the kind of small town we were looking for…
Boy, were we in for a shock. We now live in a town village of 250 people. We have a library, a school that just closed down, one park, one cornerstore, a gas station, an outdoor pool and an insurance company that also happens to have a liquor licence. No Tim’s, no Walmart, no Home Depot, nothing open later than 6 and everything is closed on Sunday. We are looking to move back to the big city, no joke. However, there are a few good things that have come out of our adventure:
- I have discovered the art of cooking wholesome foods from scratch with a limited selection of ingredients.
- I went from a hairspray addiction to the ‘no’poo’ method and will never go back
- I want my child eating as little processed food as humanly possible and to actually like her vegetables
- I discovered mommy blogs and wholesome natural food blogs and want to share the best of the best of what I have learned
Thanks for coming in and sharing our life!
No “poo”?? What does that mean?!
Baking soda shampoo and apple cider vinegar conditioner! Will be a post to follow in coming weeks. Stay tuned…. 🙂
You live in a small town, for sure. What do you guys do for work? Is it based from home? Your daughter is so cute!
There is a bigger small town just 10 min away where my husband works… 1800 people! But it’s still bigger than us. 🙂 I’m a stay-at-home mom right now but my sister and I are working on our all natural, homemade skincare line called FarmGirls.
Thank you! She is cute but a handful. 🙂
